Photography is a testimony and documentation of cultural identity. The ability to awaken emotions with one's pictures is the most beautiful gift to any photographer.
Life means constant movement and change and yet with photography you have the ability capture single moments forever. However, it nevertheless is the goal to capture the magic of that moment and pass on the emotions and experiences of the moment by taking the picture.
I would in particular like to pass on a moment that invites the viewer to stay and to recognize that maybe behind some inconspicuous detail, which then moves into the foreground, another truth can be discovered than that which fast moving life permits us to see.
We are surrounded and met by many beautiful things every day, which often, our daily stress filled lives no longer permit us to see. With my pictures I would like to show you a part of my world, how I see it and how I experience it. Perhaps I can inspire you to sometimes stop and take time for yourself and really notice things again. Not everything that seems unpleasant at first sight must also be so....
Also with my « collages » I would like to show you another point of view. It pays to look closer several times. The goal is it to create a new world from the world of advertising, to show the pictures in another light. Everybody can recognize and see something else in the pictures – no borders are set. Enjoy my pictures, relax and surf around.
I am a passionate photographer. I never leave the house without a camera. Due to my current profession I'm on the road a lot and therefor permanently confronted with interesting/exciting images, which I document. However my real passion lies with inventing and discovering themes that leave enough room for my own images, projections and interpretations. I use my self-taught and acquired knowledge for the composition and structure of every picture.
I started with photography about twenty years ago as a student. A fellow schoolmate was a photographer and in the same department a hobby photographer offered to sell me her Nikon F801. I did not hesitate long before arguably making one of the best purchases of my life. This camera accompanied me for many years to come and especially during my time as a steward with Swiss Air.
Since then I have tried and tested many cameras. Today I am comfortable with digital camera's from Nikon, Canon and Pentax and also enjoy shooting with Lomo cameras.
I was born in Basel, Switzerland during 1968, where I spent 25 years of my life. Although still loving Basel very much, I am now happy to live in the French speaking part of Switzerland, in the vicinity Yverdon. Apart from my love for photography I also create photo books and have a great passion for picture collages, which I exhibit occasionally.
